In this role, you’ll design, optimize, and maintain ultrafast Linux environments that power mission-critical trading applications. You’ll collaborate closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and network engineers to ensure the systems deliver microsecond-level responsiveness and rock-solid reliability.
Â
Key Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and manage low-latency Linux servers and network stacks across multiple global data centers
Tune Linux kernels, TCP/IP parameters, and NIC firmware to minimize jitter and latency
Automate system provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack
Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB)
Troubleshoot production incidents, perform post-mortems, and implement root-cause mitigations
Collaborate with FPGA, network, and application teams to integrate kernel-bypass technologies (DPDK, Solarflare Onload)
Write tooling and scripts in Bash, Python, or C/C++ to support infrastructure tasks
Â
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5–7 years of hands-on experience in Linux systems engineering—ideally within a trading or ultra-low-latency environment
Deep expertise in Linux kernel tuning, performance profiling (perf, ftrace), and network optimizations
Proficiency in scripting and development with Bash, Python, and C/C++
Familiarity with containerization (Docker), lightweight virtualization (KVM), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Experience with high-performance networking: RDMA, InfiniBand, Solarflare/Exablaze NICs
Strong troubleshooting skills under production pressure
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration abilities
Â
Nice-to-Have
Exposure to FPGA-based acceleration or kernel-bypass stacks (DPDK, eXpress Data Path)
Knowledge of market data feeds, order entry protocols (FIX, OUCH, ITCH)
Experience with time-series databases (kdb+, InfluxDB) and real-time analytics
Understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and risk management principles
