Software Engineering Framework Manager (VP) - Leading Financial Institution

Our client is a prominent financial institution with a large development team and resources, we are seeking a highly technical and experienced Software Engineering Framework Manager to join our dynamic team. The role of the Vice President of Software Engineering Framework is crucial in ensuring that the software development teams have access to efficient and standardized tools, frameworks, and libraries to build high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our client's organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of software engineers and frameworks specialists to drive innovation and continuous improvement in software development practices in either Front End GUI or Back End Core Development.

• Define and maintain a collection of common libraries that can be used across different projects to improve code quality, productivity, and maintainability.

• Collaborate with other departments, including IT, product management, and business teams, to understand their requirements and ensure that the software engineering framework and common libraries meet their needs.

• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify improvement opportunities and stay ahead of the curve in software development practices.

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure the scalability and sustainability of the software engineering framework and common libraries as the company grows and evolves.

• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements related to software development practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of software development experience, focusing on software engineering frameworks and common libraries.

• Solid skills in one or more areas: C/C++, Java, Front-End (React JS), and/or network programming.

• Strong understanding of software fundamentals, operating systems, and memory allocations in core development.

• Proven track record of successfully leading software engineering teams and implementing best practices in software development, including product management, release control, and compatibility management.

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies.

• Experience in FANNG-type organizations, large-scale financial institutions, or enterprise-type development environments.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change effectively.
