Pinpoint Asia has been appointed by a prestigious financial institution to lead the search for a Senior Technology Executive to oversee their core transaction processing and settlement division.
This is a critical leadership seat responsible for the engines that power high-volume financial transactions. We are looking for a leader who balances operational resilience (keeping mission-critical systems live) with strategic modernization (moving from legacy architectures to open platforms).

The Mandate
You will lead a significant engineering and support department (approx. 30+ staff) responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of transaction processing systems.
Guardian of Stability: Oversee the availability and performance of large-scale, low-latency settlement and clearing engines. You are the "safe pair of hands" ensuring 100% uptime during high market volatility.
Architect of Change: Lead a multi-year roadmap to modernize legacy core systems. You will drive the transition toward Open Systems (Linux/Java), Microservices, and Cloud-ready architectures, reducing reliance on older mainframe/monolithic technologies.
Executive Stakeholder Management: Partner with Operations Directors, Risk Managers, and Compliance Heads. You will manage complex vendor relationships and represent the technology risks/opportunities to the executive board.
Team Transformation: Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of developers, BAs, and support engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and automated DevOps practices.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a "Technologist Leader"—someone who has grown from a strong engineering background into a strategic management role (managing large teams and budgets).
Domain Expertise: Deep experience in Settlement, Clearing, Custody, or Prime Brokerage systems. You understand the trade lifecycle (Cash Equities, Fixed Income, or Derivatives) inside out.
Technical evolution: You have a background in Java/C++ development and have successfully led migration projects (Legacy to Modern Stack). Experience with "Open Platform" transitions is highly preferred.
Operational Maturity: You have a proven track record of managing critical production support (Incident Management, DR, BCP) in a highly regulated environment.
Leadership: Experience managing teams of 30+ staff and navigating the matrix structure of a large financial organization.
