About the Client: We are partnering with a top-tier global financial institution currently undergoing a massive technology transformation within its Wealth Management division. With a reputation for engineering excellence and processing massive volumes of financial data daily, they are heavily investing in modernizing their core accounting and portfolio management platforms. The Role & Landscape: This is a highly strategic and visible role. You will be the sole engineering representative for this specific accounting platform team on the ground in Hong Kong, collaborating extensively with the global engineering team and executive leadership located overseas.

• Architect & Build: Develop and modernize core portfolio accounting services utilizing Core Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.

• Distributed Systems: Build highly scalable, reusable backend components and event-driven workflows capable of handling complex financial data streams.

• Database Engineering: Leverage deep MongoDB/NoSQL knowledge to optimize data-intensive systems, taking ownership of data models and performance tuning.

• Global Collaboration: Partner closely with QA, product teams, and overseas architecture leads to deliver end-to-end features, acting as a highly autonomous technical anchor in the HK office.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: 7+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, ideally within financial systems, portfolio platforms, or complex ledger workflows.

• Core Tech Stack: Exceptional command of Core Java, multithreading, OOP, and design patterns. You must possess strong "raw" coding fundamentals.

• Frameworks & Architecture: Extensive experience building microservices with Spring Boot and REST APIs.

• Database Mastery: Heavy emphasis on NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB. Good understanding of distributed system architecture.

• Autonomy & Soft Skills: A true self-starter. Because you will be the primary technical liaison in HK, you must possess flawless communication skills and the ability to manage remote stakeholders without day-to-day supervision.

• Bonus Points: Exposure to Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud-native applications.
