Senior DBA Manager, Leading Financial Institute

Our client is looking for a  Senior DBA Manager to lead the database infrastructure design, implementation, and management.

Responsibilities

• Build and oversee databases on platforms like MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and Azure SQL, ensuring top performance.

• Transition on-premises databases to cloud-based solutions.

• Guarantee round-the-clock support for business-critical systems.

• Reduce expenses tied to database services.

• Execute server upgrades, patches, and installations.

• Guide the database team, fostering professional excellence.

• Manage a regionally distributed team in Asia.

• Embed DevOps practices and automation in database operations.

• Harness AI to streamline processes and cut costs.

• Set and maintain operational standards for databases.

• Work with IT groups on cloud projects and adoption.

• Deploy Kubernetes for efficient database management.

• Plan the future direction of database systems.

Requirements

• Degree in a technical field like Computer Science or IT.

• At least 8 years in database management, with 3+ years leading teams.

• In-depth mastery of MS SQL Server, MongoDB, AWS RDS, and Azure SQL.

• Strong analytical, management, and troubleshooting skills.

• Effective communicator with proven leadership ability.

• ITIL certification preferred.

• Proficient in database security, recovery, and tuning.

• Experienced in scripting and data migration.

• Insurance sector IT experience is a plus.

• Independent and eager to solve complex problems.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka, automation, and managing dispersed teams.
