The Role & Landscape

As a Senior Mainframe Technical Specialist, you will join an elite infrastructure team tasked with installing, customizing, and maintaining a high-availability IBM Z DB2 environment.

• Infrastructure Upgrades: Execute complex DB2 systems upgrades, tool installations (z/OS), and routine systems maintenance.

• Resilience & Testing: Drive functional testing and architecture support for the mission-critical tertiary backup environment.

• Performance & Tuning: Conduct thorough performance reviews, database sizing, and advanced systems tuning to maintain optimal processing speeds.

• Security & Governance: Administer robust access controls by implementing and managing RACF/ACF2 security rules.

• Vendor & Escalation Management: Collaborate closely with major ISV vendors (IBM, Broadcom, CA) and internal Service Centers to resolve critical system bugs and escalations.

What We Are Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.

• 8–12 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Systems Programming, specifically tailored to DB2 for z/OS.

• Mastery of SMP/E within an MVS environment alongside solid relational database concepts.

• Proven proficiency with IBM, Broadcom, and CA mainframe utility tools.

• Strong familiarity with JCL, access methods, file structures, and Disaster Recovery (DR) execution.

• Desirable Assets: Practical automation scripting using REXX and CLIST.

• Excellent technical leadership capabilities paired with a mature understanding of ITIL workflows.
