Senior Data Scientist - Tier 1 Financial Institution - J12063

We are looking for a driven and innovative Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Insights & Strategy team. The ideal candidate should be a proactive self-starter with a passion for data capable of independently managing projects from concept to production and able to translate complex data "stories" into actionable insights for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy a range of sophisticated machine learning models (ML/AI) to address critical business problems.

• Apply advanced statistical techniques for predictive modelling (e.g., forecasting, classification) and descriptive analysis to uncover deep, actionable insights from complex datasets.

• Engage directly with senior business stakeholders to understand their strategic challenges, proactively proposing innovative, data-driven solutions and models.

• Develop and maintain advanced, scalable data visualization dashboards (primarily using Power BI) to communicate model outputs and analytical results to a non-technical audience.

• Contribute to the design and execution of the firm's overarching data science and analytics strategy.

• Champion data governance principles and collaborate with data engineering teams to advise on the strategic development of cloud-based data architecture.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• A minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on experience in a Data Scientist, Data Modeller, or ML Engineer role.

• Bachelor's / Master's Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Econometrics.

• Strong experience within the financial services industry (e.g., wealth management, investment banking, risk management) is highly preferred.

• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries across large, structured, and unstructured datasets.

• Proven experience in data visualization and dashboard development, with specific expertise in Power BI.

• Demonstrable experience applying classical ML models (e.g., Gradient Boosting, Random/Isolation Forests, K-Means).

• Practical, hands-on experience building and demonstrating Generative AI solutions.

• Familiarity with modern, cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS) is a significant advantage.

• An entrepreneurial, proactive "self-starter" attitude with the ability to run tasks and projects independently.
