About Our Client:
Our client is a rapidly expanding global investment firm, leveraging a scientific and data-driven approach to navigate the complexities of financial markets across diverse asset classes. They are at the forefront of technological innovation in systematic trading, committed to continuous research, cutting-edge technology, and collaborative expertise to deliver superior performance. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-impact team that thrives on solving the most intricate challenges in electronic trading.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and driven Senior Software Engineer to join a highly technical team focused on developing and optimizing the next generation of ultra-low latency electronic trading systems. This role is central to our client's core trading infrastructure, directly impacting their ability to execute strategies with unparalleled speed and reliability.
You will be instrumental in a hands-on capacity, designing, developing, and maintaining critical high-performance C++ applications. This involves working on systems that are not just fast, but deterministically fast, ensuring robust and scalable solutions that meet the demands of a high-volume, dynamic trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect & Innovate: Lead the design and development of high-performance, low-latency C++ applications for core electronic trading components, focusing on speed, reliability, and scalability.
Performance Engineering: Drive rigorous optimization efforts, employing advanced profiling and tuning techniques to achieve microsecond-level latency improvements across the trading stack.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with hardware engineers (e.g., FPGA specialists), network engineers, and quantitative researchers to integrate bespoke solutions and optimize end-to-end system performance.
Code Excellence: Champion best practices in software development, including comprehensive code reviews, robust testing, and maintainable code design, ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Strategic Contribution: Actively participate in architectural discussions and influence the technical roadmap, ensuring system evolution aligns with business objectives and technological advancements.
Mentorship & Growth: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering group.
Your Profile & Expertise:
C++ Mastery: Extensive hands-on experience in modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) development, particularly in multi-threaded, high-performance, and memory-efficient applications on Linux platforms.
System-Level Design: Proven track record in designing and building complex, performance-critical distributed systems. Experience in electronic trading, HFT, or similar low-latency environments is highly valued.
Optimization Acumen: Deep understanding and practical experience with various low-latency optimization techniques, kernel bypass, network stack tuning, CPU cache coherency, and advanced profiling tools (e.g., perf, VTune).
Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to technically lead projects or mentor junior engineers, influencing technical direction and driving successful outcomes.
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across diverse technical teams (software, hardware, network, quants).
Problem Solver: Exceptional debugging and problem-solving skills, comfortable with complex system-level diagnostics.
Financial Domain (Preferred): Familiarity with financial markets, trading concepts (order books, market data, execution), and various asset classes is a significant advantage. Experience from either buy-side or sell-side institutions is welcome.
