Senior Accountant- Leading Hedge Fund

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the entire accounting cycle, from journal entries to the preparation of financial statements. They will also have a proven track record of optimizing accounting systems to meet internal and external financial reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.

• Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support decision-making.

• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Monitor and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Optimize accounting systems to meet both internal and external financial reporting requirements

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and regulatory requirements, with a strong awareness of tax regulations and the ability to assess potential tax implications from existing data entry and activity classifications.

• Use basic SQL for data retrieval to assist in investigations, conduct ad-hoc analyses, support accounting functions, and integrate with financial systems.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA or equivalent certification is a must.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in databases and experience of working with finance operations, e.g. BA, IT Dev, and Legal.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong Interest in the buy-side environment and applying it to accounting practices.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in SQL is a plus.

• Experience with tax preparation and compliance is a plus.
