Pinpoint Asia is partnering with a leading global quantitative investment group. Known for their scientific approach to investing and collaborative culture, they operate across all asset classes worldwide.

They are currently entering a significant growth phase, rolling out bespoke hardware platforms to accelerate their trading systems. This is a rare opportunity to join as a key technical authority, designing the hardware heart of a high-frequency trading (HFT) system from the ground up.

 

Note: While this is a financial firm, prior finance experience is NOT required. We are looking for elite engineering talent. If you have a track record of squeezing maximum performance out of hardware in Telecoms, Aerospace, Defense, or Semiconductors, we want to speak with you.

 

The Role

You will operate at the intersection of hardware and software, solving complex system problems to deliver nanosecond-level performance. Working directly with traders and researchers, you will translate mathematical trading models into high-performance silicon solutions.

  • Architect & Build: Take ownership of full lifecycle RTL development on the latest FPGA devices (Xilinx UltraScale+, Versal, etc.).

  • Optimize: Deep-dive into architectural constraints to produce highly efficient, low-latency designs.

  • Bridge the Gap: Develop the necessary software ecosystem (C/C++, Python) to interface your hardware with the wider trading infrastructure.

  • Innovate: Identify simple, elegant solutions to complex algorithmic challenges.

 

The Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a "systems thinking" mindset. You should not just be a coder; you should be an architect.

  • Experience: 10+ years of FPGA development experience. (Previous Technical Lead or Management experience is a strong plus).

  • Technical Core: Expert-level mastery of FPGA architecture (routing, timing closure, resource utilization) and RTL design (SystemVerilog/VHDL).

  • Verification: Strong background in automated verification and simulation flows.

  • Software Integration: Working knowledge of C/C++ and proficiency in Python for scripting and testing.

  • Mindset: A collaborative team player who enjoys a fast-paced environment and possesses the communication skills to explain hardware constraints to non-hardware experts.
