Our client, a leading bank across the region, is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our growing team on L1/L2 Engineering and Projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing extraordinary technical support and expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the bank's networking infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Network Architects, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements, and provide technical expertise in designing and implementing network solutions.
Perform detailed planning, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices to ensure optimum network performance, availability, and security across the company's infrastructure.
Conduct regular network assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Monitor network performance, analyze network traffic patterns, and troubleshoot network issues to proactively identify and resolve potential problems, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted network operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for network infrastructure upgrades, patch management, and other system changes, ensuring seamless integration and minimal impact on production environments.
Assist in creating and maintaining accurate network documentation, including network diagrams, inventory, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles, ensuring that information is up to date and readily accessible to team members.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to networking, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization of the network infrastructure.
Adhere to strict change management processes, logging all changes and ensuring that they are accurately documented, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to network operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications and CCNP is required.
Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably within the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on network project implementation and support.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, etc.), security principles, and network management tools.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin), with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as within a team environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Experience with network monitoring tools, performance tuning, and capacity planning will be advantageous.
