About the Client
Our client is an anchor financial market infrastructure institution operating central exchange, clearing, and settlement platforms across the region. Their systems form the technological backbone of Asian capital markets, processing millions of transactions daily with zero tolerance for downtime or jitter. Engineering teams here maintain end-to-end local autonomy over architecture, investment decisions, and operational delivery.
Â
The Role & Landscape
Working in tandem with the head of operational support, you will co-lead the network organization with direct oversight of architecture standards, technology roadmaps, and capital delivery.
Direct architecture, engineering governance, and modernization roadmaps across multi-tier data centre networks.
Take delivery accountability for major technology transformation projects
Partner directly with application teams across real-time trading engines and post-trade settlement systems to dissect protocol interactions, socket behaviour, and latency footprints.
Act as the final Level 3 technical escalation point for complex root-cause analyses, packet inspection, and transient network anomalies.
Direct the adoption of next-generation switching fabrics, including EVPN/VXLAN, ACI, advanced multicast distribution, and traffic-engineered routing topologies.
Split focus between 70% technical infrastructure strategy/engineering and 30% senior stakeholder alignment across core business divisions.

Data Centre Fabric:Â Strong hands-on architectural depth with Cisco ACI, VXLAN overlays, EVPN control planes, BGP, and spine-leaf architectures.
Performance Engineering:Â Deep background in packet analysis, multicast routing (PIM/IGMP), buffer monitoring, microburst mitigation, and end-to-end latency optimization.
Programme Scale: Verifiable track record delivering enterprise-scale network implementations with capital project budgets in the HKD 20M – 100M bracket.
Stakeholder Balance:Â Articulate technical communicator able to partner with senior application architects, translating complex network telemetry into actionable system enhancements.
Â
Why Apply To This Role
Full Decision-Making Autonomy:Â Engineering decisions are made locally in Hong Kong, avoiding the remote approvals typical of global regional branches.
