Mainframe (COBOL/ CICS) Developer

Our client, a prominent finance firm, is seeking an exceptional Mainframe (COBOL/ CICS) Developer/ SA. You will be responsible for the development and support in a key financial money-maker in HK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and design technical solutions that meet the needs of our organization.

• Develop and maintain COBOL/CICS applications in a mainframe environment, ensuring high quality and performance standards are met.

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to coding, testing, and implementation.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements within existing systems and applications.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve complex issues and optimize system performance.

• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in mainframe application development to enhance your skills and contribute to the continuous improvement of our solutions.

• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience in inframe application development using COBOL and CICS.

• Strong understanding of database technologies, such as DB2, and proficiency in SQL.

• Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

• Financial services industry experience is a plus.
