My client, a global financial institution, is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer who will be part of a global team responsible for building resilient, scalable, and efficient Public Cloud (Azure) infrastructure. This engineer will develop technical capabilities to enable application hosting on the cloud platform, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance. The engineer will also manage a team of DevOps engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineer Azure solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code methods.
Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to team members to maintain solution quality and performance.
Build and manage the Azure foundation platform for application deployments.
Ensure compliance with operational risk frameworks, architecture governance, policy, and standards.
Own the engineering operating model and related tools.
Represent the Azure platform in discussions with internal IT partners and Microsoft.
Provide management reporting for continuous improvement.
Execute the lifecycle process of functional patterns.
Integrate, configure, deploy, and manage common cloud services.
Manage Azure connectivity and networking components.
Ensure compliance with security measures.
Update support and operational documentation.
Support the implementation of a 24/7 support model.
Develop solutions meeting business contingency standards.
Promote the reuse of patterns.
Act as the Platform evangelist.
Gather requirements and provide feedback loops between Cybersecurity and the Cloud Services team.
Requirements:
Experience as an Engineering Lead in an enterprise organization, including people management.
Cloud service provider experience, specifically in Azure infrastructure build and configuration of various of its services including Containers, Orchestration, etc. is a MUST.
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Knowledge of security, compliance, and cloud monitoring tools.
Proven track record of seeking improvements and implementing change.
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in Agile team environments.
Risk management and problem-solving abilities.
Industry-recognized cloud certifications will be a plus.
Proficiency in PowerShell, Terraform, Go or Bash is desirable.
Technical knowledge in areas like networking, firewalls, operating systems, and containers would be an advantage.
Experience in highly regulated industries such as financial services will be preferred.
