Lead Architect - Observability Engineering

They are looking for a visionary leader to own and revolutionize their entire observability strategy. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to design and build a world-class observability practice that eliminates major outages and provides deep, actionable insights across their entire hybrid-cloud ecosystem.

Your Mission: What You'll Achieve

• Be the Lead Architect: You will be the visionary, designing the master blueprint for the entire observability ecosystem. You'll create the reference architectures, design patterns, and standards that the entire organization will follow.

• Unify a Powerful Tech Stack: You'll orchestrate a best-in-class, multi-vendor toolchain, making powerful platforms like Datadog, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry work together seamlessly to provide a single pane of glass view of system health.

• Automate Everything: You will drive the adoption of Observability-as-Code and DevOps principles, integrating monitoring and telemetry directly into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform and Ansible.

• Set the Gold Standard: You'll establish a robust governance framework, ensuring all new systems are built with reliability and insight baked in from day one.

• Lead and Inspire: You will guide and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and empowering them to achieve an ambitious goal: zero downtime for the company's most critical services.

Your Profile: What You Bring to the Table

• A Seasoned Architect: You have over a decade of experience designing, building, and running observability solutions for complex, large-scale enterprise environments.

• A Multi-Vendor Polyglot: You possess deep, hands-on expertise across a diverse landscape of tools. You're fluent in platforms like Datadog, Splunk, BMC Helix, and Cisco ThousandEyes.

• A Cloud & DevOps Native: You are a strategic thinker with proven experience in AWS and Azure, leveraging modern practices like containers (Kubernetes, Docker), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD integration.

• An Expert in Modern Observability: You are a master of the three pillars (metrics, logs, traces) and have deep experience with APM, Distributed Tracing, RUM, and Synthetic Monitoring.

• A Leader and Influencer: You have a proven ability to work with senior management, influence cross-functional teams, and drive strategic initiatives from concept to completion. An enterprise architecture certification (TOGAF or similar) is highly regarded.
