Our client is a leading international investment bank, they are looking for a Java Equity Derivatives Software Engineer at VP or Senior Associate level equivalent. In this position, the selected candidate will develop and maintain Java-based systems for algorithmic trading, focusing on automating processes like trading, hedging, and market-making. The developer will work closely with the DeltaOne trading desk to enhance a platform that optimizes internal risk and inventory management across major Asian markets. It is a prominent work working with an international team and growing a strong equity market.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Java-based systems for algorithmic trading.
Automate trading, hedging, and market-making processes.
Collaborate with the DeltaOne trading desk on platform development.
Optimize internal risk and inventory management across Asian markets.
Perform coding, debugging, and performance tuning in UNIX/Linux environments.
Manage the full application lifecycle in an agile development setting.
Coordinate with local and international team members for global delivery.
Work closely with trading and quantitative strategy teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Communicate effectively with global colleagues to implement updates and changes.

Job Requirements:
In-depth expertise in core Java programming within UNIX/Linux environments.
Skilled in troubleshooting and optimizing performance at the Java / Garbage Collector / Linux OS level.
Demonstrated experience working in a front-office context alongside trading and quantitative strategy teams.
Background in developing systems for automated market-making, direct market access, or algorithmic trading in liquid markets such as equities, foreign exchange, or liquid rates is a strong plus.
Proficient in building systems utilizing the FIX protocol is a strong plus.
Strong knowledge of SQL-based database systems, including Sybase, DB2, or KDB.
Familiarity with scripting languages like shell, Python, or q.
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is typically necessary to possess the required skills for this role.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from a reputable University
