Our client, an international asset management group, is an IT professional to join as the IT Portfolio PMO Manager. Reporting to the IT Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of IT projects within the portfolio and managing vendor relationships. The individual in this role will work closely with internal stakeholders, project teams, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the IT project management office (PMO) function, providing guidance and support to project managers and teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and implement project management methodologies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective project delivery.
Monitor IT project portfolios, ensuring alignment with business objectives, resource allocation, and adherence to project management practices.
Partner with business stakeholders to identify project priorities, scope, and objectives, ensuring project charters and business cases are well-defined and approved.
Coordinate project resource planning and assignment, ensuring teams are adequately staffed and equipped to meet project objectives.
Plan and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control measures are in place.
Implement and manage effective vendor management strategies, including vendor evaluation, selection, and performance monitoring.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements and service level agreements.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate contracts and propose vendor engagement strategies that optimize value and mitigate risk.
Oversee vendor performance reviews and manage escalations, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and service delivery standards are maintained.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, providing recommendations on IT tools and methodologies to enhance project outcomes.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the PMO, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance delivery efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or PMP certification is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on portfolio management and vendor relationship management.
Demonstrated experience in successfully delivering large-scale IT projects within budget, on time, and meeting quality criteria.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and practices, with expertise in project planning, risk management, and resource allocation.
Solid understanding of vendor management processes and best practices, including contract negotiation, performance assessment, and issue resolution.
Excellent leadership and communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented mindset to manage complex projects and vendor relationships.
Proven experience in managing multiple concurrent projects and aligning project portfolios with business priorities.
Proficient in using project management tools and software to track project progress and report on key performance indicators.
