Our client, a leading financial institution in Hong Kong, is committed to delivering exceptional financial services through innovative technology solutions. We are seeking an experienced IT Portfolio Manager and PMO to lead the IT project management office and oversee the portfolio of IT projects, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic goals. Perm position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Develop and manage the IT project portfolio, aligning with the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Evaluate and prioritize IT projects based on business value, risks, and resource availability.

  • Monitor and report on portfolio performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Ensure effective resource allocation across projects to optimize delivery and outcomes.

 

Project Management Office (PMO):

  • Establish and maintain PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices.

  • Guide project managers in the application of project management methodologies and tools.

  • Conduct regular project audits and reviews to ensure compliance and quality standards.

  • Develop and deliver training programs for project management staff.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business units to understand IT needs and translate them into project requirements.

  • Facilitate communication between IT and business stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Prepare and present portfolio status reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.

 

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify potential risks and issues within the IT portfolio and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure timely resolution of project-related issues and escalate as necessary.

 

Financial Management:

  • Oversee portfolio budget, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.

  • Track and report on project expenditures and ensure financial accountability.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP) is preferred.

  • Proven experience as an IT Portfolio Manager or similar role, preferably within the financial sector.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting for IT projects.
