About the Client:
We are representing one of the largest global cloud computing providers. They build, own, and operate massive-scale infrastructure that keeps a significant portion of the internet running. The engineering culture is highly pragmatic and data-driven, focusing heavily on continuous improvement, physical security, and maintaining absolute uptime for enterprise customers.
Â
The Role & Landscape:
You will step in to take full operational ownership of several physical data center sites in Hong Kong. This is a hands-on management role where you bridge the gap between facility operations and infrastructure strategy.
Site Management: Oversee daily data center operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety, physical security, and customer data protection protocols.
Team Leadership: Directly manage, coach, and evaluate a team of junior technicians.
Incident & Change Control: Own the lifecycle for problem, incident, and change management workflows across your sites.
MEP & Capacity Planning: Monitor and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, alongside server capacity planning.
Financial Ownership: Drive annual budgeting for your sites, managing both CAPEX and OPEX financials efficiently.
Â
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: At least 3 years of direct people management experience, acting as the performance manager for a technical team.
Technical Core: Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, data center operations, and continuous process improvement. Familiarity with MEP (Power/Cooling) is highly preferred.
Communication: Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese is mandatory. You must be able to adapt your communication style seamlessly—breaking down technical issues for junior technicians one minute, and presenting capacity reports to regional senior leadership the next.
Financials: Practical experience managing annual budgets (CAPEX/OPEX).
Preferred Certifications: ITIL, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CDCP/S/E, or Linux administration (RHCSA, LPIC).
Â
Why Apply To This Role:
This isn't a hands-off administrative job; you are essentially the site director for critical infrastructure. You get high visibility with regional leadership, significant budget control, and the autonomy to run your facilities. It’s an opportunity to manage physical infrastructure at a scale most IT professionals never get to touch.
