Head of Trading Systems Platform - Leading Financial Institution

As the Head of Trading Systems Platform, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust trading systems that support the trading activities. You will oversee a team of developers and engineers, ensuring our trading platforms are efficient, reliable, secure, and scalable to meet the demands of our client's business. This role requires a strong understanding of financial markets, trading technologies, security protocols, infrastructure management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the trading systems team, aligning with the company’s business objectives.

• System Development and Maintenance:

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of trading systems and platforms.

  • Ensure systems are robust, secure, and capable of handling high-frequency trading activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and enhancements.

• Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect trading systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.

  • Regularly review and update security measures to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks.

• Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the infrastructure supporting trading systems, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and efficient.

  • Work with IT and infrastructure teams to manage hardware and network resources, optimizing performance and minimizing downtime.

  • Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to support growing business needs.

• Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to optimize trading operations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to system functionality, security, and performance.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with traders, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure trading systems meet all regulatory, business, and security requirements.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on system developments.

• Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in trading technology, security, and infrastructure management.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system capabilities and support future business needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

• Extensive experience in developing and managing trading systems within a financial services environment.

• Strong knowledge of financial markets, trading mechanisms, security protocols, and infrastructure management.

• Proven leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
