About the Client

Our client is a vital financial institution in Hong Kong, managing key industry-wide financial services. Operating at the core of the region's financial systems, they are expanding their technology leadership team to support cross-border market connectivity and system modernization.

The Role & Landscape

As Executive Director, you will directly shape the technical strategy and operational execution for in-house developed platforms.

Key expectations include:

• Guide the migration of core legacy mainframe designs toward modern, modular microservices and cloud architectures.

• Oversee full SDLC execution, establishing clean coding standards, build/release automation, continuous integration, and QA framework improvements.

• Direct in-house development teams and manage vendor relationships to ensure outsourced components integrate smoothly into core infrastructure.

• Maintain strict Zero Trust security standards, high-availability architecture, and regulatory compliance across all platforms.

• Evaluate and integrate relevant emerging technologies, including AI, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and open-source tooling, into live operational environments.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 15+ years of technology leadership experience delivering enterprise-grade platforms across capital markets or banking.

• Domain Expertise: Solid background in post-trade processing, custody, asset servicing, valuations, collateral management, or regulatory compliance.

• Technical Architecture: Practical knowledge of transaction processing, messaging protocols, memory management, high availability, and storage architecture.

• Modernization Track Record: Demonstrated experience migrating legacy systems to modular architectures.

• Languages: Business fluency in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua is mandatory.
