About the Client: We are partnering with a prominent global financial services firm with a strong footprint in the Asian equities market. They maintain a complex environment of in-house and vendor systems supporting their trading and research operations. The engineering culture here is pragmatic and business-aligned, focusing on reliable data flow and efficient trade processing.

The Role & Landscape: This is a unique, hybrid vacancy where the hiring manager is open to either a technically hands-on Business Analyst or a Systems Developer with strong business acumen.

• Design and develop interfaces connecting middle-office systems and related back-office applications.

• Take ownership of critical static data systems (Bloomberg/Reuters), SQL Server databases, and complex Excel-based tools used daily by the Equity Middle Office and Research teams.

• Act as the primary technical point of contact, providing second-line support and troubleshooting operational issues.

• Conduct feasibility studies for new system enhancements and present recommendations directly to the business.

• Automate deployment processes and collaborate with regional offices on IT changes.

• Note: This role may require occasional early-shift support.

What We Are Looking For:

• A strong foundation in SQL and VBA is mandatory.

• For developer profiles, you must be comfortable getting hands-on with databases, SSIS, and Linux batch jobs.

• For BA profiles, you need the technical depth to understand system architectures, write complex SQL queries, and manage technical delivery.

• A solid understanding of the trade lifecycle within investment banking or securities trading (3+ years preferred).

• Familiarity with Python, AWS, or vendor systems like Fidessa, Ullink, or Omgeo CTM is a strong advantage.
