Our global quantitative trading client is seeking a Technical Project Manager to sit directly on the Equity Derivatives trading floor. Operating at the critical intersection of IT infrastructure, software engineering, and hyper-low-latency trading, you will embed with the business to translate complex trading strategies into robust engineering roadmaps where microseconds impact profitability.Â
Â
Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of high-frequency Equity Derivatives (EQD) trading infrastructure and software projects from initial concept through to production deployment.
Act as the ultimate coordinator and translator between Quant Traders (demanding speed, features, and capacity), Trading Developers (building pricing and execution logic), and Core IT/Infrastructure teams (managing networks, bare-metal servers, and exchange lines).
Establish lightweight, high-velocity project management frameworks that fit a dynamic trading floor without introducing bureaucratic drag.
Coordinate complex software releases, algorithmic updates, and exchange-mandatory upgrades under tight, market-driven deadlines without disruption to live PnL.
Proactively identify technical bottlenecks, resource constraints, and cross-team dependencies. Own the mitigation strategies for hardware lead times, data center capacity constraints, and network topology changes.
Manage the pipeline for onboarding new exchange feeds, market data protocols, and order routing gateways.
Â
Qualifications:
10–15 years as a Technical Project Manager or Business Analyst in a front-office financial markets environment. This must include at least 4+ years of delivery leadership within a proprietary trading firm, hedge fund, or elite investment bank.
Deep understanding of Equity Derivatives (including options, variance swaps, and ETFs), options trading lifecycles (Greeks, volatility smiles, clearing), and market microstructure.
Practical knowledge of what an Automated Market Maker (AMM) requires to operate, alongside a proven track record of systems integration across trading and risk domains.
Strong grasp of low-latency architecture, including Linux kernel tuning and high-performance network stacks (TCP/IP).
Highly organized, assertive, and able to thrive under pressure—someone who can cut through the noise of a live trading floor to drive execution.
