Enterprise System Engineer - Prominent Property Developer

Our client is a prominent property developer with a long-standing business in Hong Kong. The company is seeking a Senior System Engineer to enhance and maintain its on-premise infrastructure, including systems in the office and the data center. The organization values new technology and encourages collaboration with vendors to revamp server farms. The company requires the engineer to support different business units promptly and effectively, identifying the root causes of problems and implementing preventive measures.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining the on-premise office IT infrastructure and the data center

• Evaluating and implementing new technologies with vendors

• Providing immediate support to various business units, identifying issues, and implementing preventive measures

• Maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems

• Installing and upgrading computer components and software, managing virtual servers, and integrating automation processes

• Troubleshooting hardware and software errors

• Documenting and providing technical specifications for new or upgraded IT infrastructure

• Managing backup operations and implementing processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

• Managing capacity, storage planning, and system performance

• Implementing projects, including planning, scheduling, quality control, vendor management, auditing, and budget management

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant disciplines

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge of Kubernetes architecture and Veeam backup

• Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and O365

• Scripting skills using Linux Shell and PowerShell

• Understanding network and application protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, TFTP, PXE, Syslog

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies VMWare ESX/ESXi/KVM/Docker/SAN

• Knowledge of financial systems or applications is an added advantage

• Familiarity with major cloud platforms is beneficial

• Experience using monitoring solutions like CloudWatch, SolarWinds, and Prometheus

• Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being advantageous

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
