Our client, a large enterprise with a sophisticated and high transactional platform, is seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Resilience Technology Director. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, as well as ensuring the resilience and availability of critical technology systems. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's operations against potential disruptions to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the disaster recovery and business continuity strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical business functions, applications, and infrastructure components to develop a comprehensive plan for disaster recovery and business continuity. Ensure alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
Enhance and maintain the business continuity program: Continuously review and improve the BCP and crisis management program, including incident response plans, testing protocols, and communication strategies. Regularly assess risks, identify gaps, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Oversee resilience technology initiatives: Lead efforts to implement and manage resilient technology infrastructure, including redundant systems, failover mechanisms, and data replication strategies. Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to identify opportunities for enhancing resilience measures.
Coordinate disaster recovery exercises and tests: Plan and execute scheduled disaster recovery and business continuity exercises to verify the effectiveness of established plans, procedures, and technologies. Analyze results, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners: Work closely with IT operations, security, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of disaster recovery, BCP, and resilience initiatives with overall organizational objectives. Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and government agencies to leverage expertise and resources.
Provide leadership and training: Supervise a team of disaster recovery and resilience professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Conduct training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on disaster recovery protocols, business continuity plans, and appropriate response actions during crises.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems management, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCP, DRCP) are preferred.
Proven experience in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and resilience technology within a high transaction industry. Minimum 10 years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
Thorough understanding of disaster recovery methodologies, BCP frameworks, and resilience technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience with cloud technologies, virtualization, data centers, and cybersecurity practices is highly desirable.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry guidelines, and audit compliance in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
