Data Transformation Business Analyst - Leading Insurance Group - J12321

Our client, a prominent Life Insurance Group in Hong Kong, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their data transformation team.  This role will gather and analyze business requirements, translate needs into data specifications, perform data validation, and develop dashboards to support data transformation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with business teams and stakeholders to ensure business requirements are accurately translated from user needs in the context of data transformation.

• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that business requirements are met in data transformation initiatives.

• Ensure the quality of requirements to drive business objectives in data analytics and transformation.

• Develop and manage dashboards using Power BI to provide insights and support decision-making processes.

• Perform verification and testing on deliverables from vendors and development teams to ensure alignment with business requirements.

• Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the transformation process.

Requirements:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Business Analytics or equivalent

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, or a similar role

• Demonstrate strong experience in delivering data analytics solutions using tools such as Power BI.

• Familiar with data querying using Databricks and SQL.

• Preferably with insurance industry experience—possesses knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements affecting data capture, usage, and reporting.

• Experience in documenting data models, creating data dictionaries, and developing business glossaries, as well as supporting user acceptance testing for analytical or reporting solutions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
