Our client, a leading insurance group, is looking for a Data Science Platform Manager for the Asia region. As the Data Science Platform Manager, you will be responsible for managing technology and toolsets in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) within the organization. You will oversee the development and maintenance of the advanced data platform, ensuring its seamless integration into the business processes and leading the implementation of cutting-edge data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of data scientists, data engineers, and AI/ML experts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their professional growth.

  • Develop and execute the strategic direction for the data science, AI, and ML data platform, aligning it with the company's broader goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify data-driven opportunities, and translate them into feasible technical solutions.

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data models, algorithms, and analytical tools to extract insights and optimize business processes.

  • Ensure the effective integration of the data platform with existing IT infrastructure, ensuring data quality, security, and integrity are maintained.

  • Drive the adoption of industry best practices, methodologies, and technologies related to data science, AI, and ML, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.

  • Regularly communicate project updates, strategic initiatives, and key achievements to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of advancements and emerging trends in the field of data science, AI, and ML, evaluating their potential impact on our business and proposing relevant applications.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience in managing and leading teams of data scientists, data engineers, and AI/ML experts, ideally within the insurance industry or financial services sector.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with data science methodologies, AI algorithms, and ML techniques.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, as well as working with distributed computing frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, or TensorFlow.

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing sophisticated data platforms and scalable architecture.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and generate actionable insights.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering data-driven projects on time and within budget.

  • Familiarity with compliance, regulatory, and privacy guidelines related to data science, AI, and ML.
