About the Client We are partnering with a highly prestigious, globally recognized financial services institution. Committed to leveraging data as a core strategic asset, this organization is heavily investing in modernizing its enterprise data landscape. You will be joining an environment that champions data integrity, regulatory excellence, and advanced technological enablement. This is a rare opportunity to shape the data culture of an industry leader and build robust frameworks that directly influence executive decision-making.
Â
The Role & Landscape As the Data Governance Lead, you will take ownership of the firm’s data governance operating model. Bridging the gap between Business, Analytics, and Technology, your impact will include:
Strategic Frameworks:Â Developing and maintaining the enterprise data governance target operating model, policies, and standards across data quality, lifecycle management, and access entitlements.
Regulatory & Privacy Alignment:Â Partnering with Risk and Compliance to ensure all governance activities meet rigorous local privacy laws and stringent global data risk management expectations.
Stewardship & Council Leadership:Â Identifying and empowering Data Owners and Stewards. You will run the Data Governance Council, managing the cadence, facilitating decisions, and ensuring a single point of accountability.
Data Lineage & Metadata:Â Driving the definition of the business glossary and Critical Data Elements (CDE), ensuring clear lineage and metadata documentation across business processes.
Quality Remediation:Â Defining KPIs and thresholds for data quality, producing management-grade reporting, and escalating critical remediation efforts to executive stakeholders.
Â
What We Are Looking For
Experience:Â 8 to 12+ years of dedicated experience in Data Management and Data Governance, preferably within the Insurance, Wealth, or broader Financial Services sectors.
Domain Expertise:Â Proven track record of implementing governance frameworks, target operating models, and Data Governance Councils from inception to maturity.
Technical Acumen:Â Strong practical knowledge of data quality metrics, metadata management, data lineage, and CDE definition.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of regional data privacy regulations and international financial data risk management guidelines.
Soft Skills:Â Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the executive presence to challenge the business and drive consensus among senior leadership.
Education:Â A relevant degree; Professional Certificates in Data Governance or AI Governance (e.g., CDMP) are highly preferred.
Â
Why Apply To This Role This is not a purely operational or maintenance role—it is a highly visible, strategic mandate. You will have the executive backing to enact real change, holding the reins on a transformation that spans the entire enterprise. For a governance leader looking to cement their legacy by building a best-in-class data risk and stewardship culture, there is no better platform.
