Data and AI Governance Lead (Leading Bank) - J12615

We are seeking a high-caliber lead to join our Data Governance team. You will be instrumental in ensuring the bank’s data assets are high-quality, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role combines technical oversight of data management frameworks with high-level coordination and policy development.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the bank’s Data Governance framework, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Manage data classification and access control protocols to safeguard sensitive information.

• Drive initiatives related to critical data management to improve the reliability of reporting and decision-making.

• Establish and monitor Data Quality Management (DQM) metrics and dashboards.

• Collaborate with business units to identify data quality issues and track remediation efforts.

• Develop and update organizational policies, standards, and guidelines (including emerging areas like AI Governance).

• Act as the primary coordinator for Data Governance committees and working groups.

• Prepare high-quality meeting materials, presentations, and reports for senior management.

• Ensure accurate documentation of meeting minutes and rigorous tracking of follow-up actions.

• Liaise with IT, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams to bridge the gap between technical requirements and business needs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality.

• A proven track record within the Banking or Financial Services sector is essential.

• Deep understanding of data lifecycles, metadata management, and data protection principles.

• Strong Project Management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a local bank environment.

• Excellent command of English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (written and spoken).

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.

• Direct experience in drafting Data and AI Governance policies.
