Job Overview

Our banking client is seeking a skilled Data & AI Risk Governance Specialist to strengthen our governance framework and ensure effective risk management associated with data, AI, and technology. This role will act as a liaison between the Second Line of Defense and First Line of Defense, translating regulatory requirements into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain guidelines and governance frameworks for data and AI risks, ensuring regulatory compliance.

• Develop training programs and organize workshops to educate staff on governance policies and promote risk awareness.

• Coordinate governance meetings, manage agendas, and document key discussions and actions.

• Facilitate communication between 1LOD and 2LOD to align risk management strategies.

• Analyze regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business language for operational teams.

• Provide guidance on risk identification, assessment, and management practices.

• Maintain knowledge of banking risks, particularly related to data privacy, technology, and legal aspects.

• Stay informed on emerging risks in the banking and technology sectors.

• Lead or support projects related to system enhancements and technology implementations for governance and compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.

• Evaluate AI-related initiatives and their governance implications, contributing to the development of aligned AI models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• 5-7 years in data and AI risk governance, with a solid understanding of banking risks related to data and technology. Background in project management, particularly in tech-related projects, is desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable solutions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels

• Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.

• Familiarity with AI technologies and their governance implications is a plus. Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
