Business Analyst (New Business & Underwriting) - Leading Life Insurance Company - J12453

Our client, a leading Life Insurance Group in Hong Kong, is seeking a Business Analyst to drive their New Business & Underwriting initiatives. In this role, you will lead business analysis, requirements gathering, and end-to-end UAT and defect management, ensuring a seamless and high-quality onboarding experience for life insurance policyholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with stakeholders (Underwriting, Actuarial, and Sales) to grasp business requirements specifically for New Business onboarding and automated underwriting engines.

• Design and convert insights into user stories that optimize the end-to-end customer journey, ensuring a frictionless application-to-issuance process.

• Develop detailed, risk-based UAT plans aligned with business objectives. Design and execute thorough test cases covering functional, integration, and regression scenarios.

• Validate complex underwriting rules, eligibility checks, disclosure logic, and integration with third-party medical/data providers.

• Identify, document, and prioritise defects. Collaborate with IT to evaluate business impacts, ensuring fixes comply with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Create and deliver comprehensive training plans for business users and operational staff regarding new system features or workflow changes.

• Provide stabilization support during go-live, addressing production issues and clarifying test scenarios for the New Business team.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 3+ years of relevant experience as a BA, specifically within Life Insurance projects.

• Proven track record in managing UAT and Defect Management for large-scale system implementations.

• Strong understanding of the New Business lifecycle, including digital applications and underwriting workflows.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and implementation skills.

• Fluency in verbal and written English and Chinese (Cantonese) is essential.

• Candidates with less experience will also be considered.
