Azure Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Leading Insurance Group

Our client, a leading insurance group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure Architect. You will work closely with stakeholders to design, implement, and manage the cloud-based infrastructure solutions that support the Insurance Group's operations. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and configuring Azure environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Your expertise in designing and optimizing cloud infrastructure will help us drive digital transformation and enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business units, development teams, and infrastructure engineers, to understand their requirements and strategize the design of cloud-based solutions.

• Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage accounts, virtual machines, and platform services, to meet the organization's business needs.

• Develop and execute strategies to optimize the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of Azure resources.

• Ensure proper governance, security, and compliance measures are in place for the Azure environment, adhering to organizational policies and industry best practices.

• Oversee the migration of on-premises infrastructure and applications to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum return on investment.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team members involved in Azure cloud implementation and management.

• Collaborate with network and cybersecurity teams to implement appropriate security controls and mitigate any potential risks and vulnerabilities.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in Azure cloud infrastructure, continuously enhancing own skills and knowledge.

• Participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution processes to ensure high availability and performance of the Azure environment.

• Prepare and maintain documentation related to Azure infrastructure architecture, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

• Extensive experience in architecting, designing, and implementing Azure cloud solutions.

• Hands-on experience in deploying and managing a wide variety of Azure services, such as virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity/access management.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other relevant scripting languages.

• Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure DevOps for infrastructure deployment and management.

• Knowledge of cloud migration methodologies and tools, particularly related to on-premises to Azure migration.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are highly desirable.

• Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
