AWS Cloud Engineer - Leading Investment Bank

Join our client, a prestigious investment bank as a Cloud Engineer and play a pivotal role in the strategic cloud transformation journey. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a key contributor to the AWS cloud initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as an integral member of the cloud transformation team, leveraging your expertise in AWS to drive innovation and efficiency.

• Define, validate, and implement migration strategies and solutions to advance our cloud objectives.

• Architect, deploy and sustain robust cloud infrastructure and services to meet business demands.

• Develop and manage sophisticated tools and scripts to streamline cloud management and provisioning processes.

• Monitor and enhance cloud performance, security, and availability, ensuring optimal service delivery.

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring minimal disruption.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless integration with existing systems and processes.

• Continuously evaluate and recommend enhancements to our AWS environment, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements.

• Engage in system upgrades, maintenance, and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.

• Provide technical mentorship and support to team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.

• Install, configure, and manage both cloud-based and on-premises Linux/Unix servers and systems.

• Regularly update and maintain systems in cloud and hybrid environments to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• Create and optimize scripts to automate routine tasks, enhancing system performance and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 5-7 years of extensive experience in AWS cloud infrastructure management and Linux/Unix system administration.

• In-depth knowledge of key AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC.

• Proficiency in working with various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Unix variants (e.g., AIX, Solaris).

• Expertise in utilizing automation tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible, along with configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef.

• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.

• Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.

• Superior communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Prior experience in the financial services industry (FSI) cloud migration and hybrid cloud operational support is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and its integration with AWS is advantageous.

• Preferred possession of AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
