Our client is a leading player in the Wealth Management field, they are seeking a talented Application Support Analyst to join the team in supporting the Australian market. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various financial systems, including Australian Stock Exchange Trading, Clearing and Settlement of Options and Equities, Treasury, Cash Management, Account Management, portfolio management, and internal and external reporting. Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support for Australian Stock Exchange Trading, Clearing and Settlement of Options and Equities, Treasury, Cash Management, Account Management, portfolio management, and internal and external client reporting systems.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to financial applications and systems.

  • Collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems.

  • Participating in system upgrades, enhancements, and testing activities.

  • Documenting support processes and procedures for future reference.

  • Providing training and support to end-users on financial systems.

  • Developing and maintaining shell scripts in a Linux environment to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.

  • Applying knowledge of the FIX Protocol for trading system support and troubleshooting.

  • Maintaining and updating documentation on Twiki for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

  • Managing and resolving incidents related to financial applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Following established incident management protocols and using tools to track and report incidents.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supporting financial systems, particularly in the Australian market.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian Stock Exchange Trading, Clearing and Settlement of Options and Equities, Treasury, Cash Management, Account Management, portfolio management, and client reporting.

  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for database support and development.

  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting for system administration and automation.

  • Familiarity with Autosys for job scheduling and workflow automation.

  • Understanding of the FIX Protocol for supporting trading systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.

 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with wealth management systems.

  • Certification in relevant financial technologies.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the Australian financial market.

  • Familiarity with IRESS Market Data and Trading applications.

  • Experience with ServiceNow for IT service management.

  • Knowledge of OpenText Documentum and Brava for document management.

  • Understanding of GBST DCA (Derivatives Clearing and Accounting).

  • Skills in TestComplete automation scripting.

  • Experience with ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) interfaces for both trading and clearing settlement.
