Application Security Lead - Leading Financial Services Group

Our client is a prominent financial services group, we are seeking an Application Security Lead to drive regional security initiatives. The selected candidates will drive the regional application security working with various stakeholders across different IT and business stakeholders, leading security on the application front. This is a prominent security role for someone who wants to advance his career to the next stage.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of application security and controls, ensuring robust protection measures are in place.

• Collaborate with application leaders across various business units to advocate for and implement best practices in application security.

• Provide expert advice on application security to IT and Information Security management, guiding decision-making processes.

• Conduct thorough risk management and control assessments within the application security domain to identify and mitigate potential threats.

• Enhance existing toolsets, processes, and organizational structures to improve application security controls and effectively manage security risks.

• Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for enhancing application security controls.

• Work closely with key vendors and business partners to deliver effective and efficient security services.

• Define and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and key control indicators (KCIs) for application security, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Regularly report on key control indicators to senior management, ensuring alignment with the organization’s risk appetite.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• At least 10 years of hands-on technical experience in Information Security or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in various application security domains, such as container security, mobile security, serverless security, API security, penetration testing, DevSecOps, and security programming.

• Demonstrated ability in team management and development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

• Strong ability to define, prioritize, and execute processes in a structured and efficient manner.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

• Possession of technical certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CCSP, OSCP, CRISC, or CEH.
