Application Security Architect - Leading Financial Services Group

Our client, a prominent financial services group, is seeking an Application Security Architect to lead regional security initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for driving the application security architecture, working closely with various IT and business stakeholders. This is a key security role for someone looking to elevate their career to the next level.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and oversee all aspects of application security and controls, ensuring robust protection measures are integrated into the systems.

• Collaborate with application leaders across various business units to design and implement best practices in application security.

• Provide expert architectural guidance on application security to IT and Information Security management, influencing decision-making processes.

• Conduct in-depth risk management and control assessments within the application security architecture to identify and mitigate potential threats.

• Enhance existing toolsets, processes, and organizational structures to improve application security controls and manage security risks effectively.

• Identify and implement cost-effective architectural solutions for enhancing application security controls.

• Work closely with key vendors and business partners to deliver effective and efficient security architecture services.

• Define and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and key control indicators (KCIs) for application security, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Regularly report on key control indicators to senior management, ensuring alignment with the organization’s risk appetite.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• At least 10 years of hands-on technical experience in Information Security or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in various application security domains, such as container security, mobile security, serverless security, API security, penetration testing, DevSecOps, and security programming.

• Demonstrated ability in architectural team management and development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

• Strong ability to define, prioritize, and execute processes in a structured and efficient manner.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.

• Possess technical certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CCSP, OSCP, CRISC, or CEH.
