Accounting Systems Business Analyst

Our client, a leading organization, is looking for an experienced Accounting Systems Business Analyst. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the accounting systems. This position requires a deep understanding of financial processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Implementation and Maintenance:

  • Lead and manage the implementation of accounting systems design and upgrades.

  • Ensure systems are configured to meet business requirements and compliance standards.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

  • Specialized focus on accounting for financial products such as derivatives, fixed income, equities, and other complex financial instruments.

• Business Analysis

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from various stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives.

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design.

  • Conduct gap analysis and recommend solutions to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.

• Project Management:

  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.

  • Coordinate with IT, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project status and progress.

• Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure accounting systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the accounting systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a large financial institution.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and financial products accounting.

• Understanding of accounting software in a financial environment setup.

• Understanding of financial product accounting with different products such as derivatives, fixed income, and equities.

• Previous project experience in bringing accounting systems transformation is a great plus.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in Agile development practice is a plus.

• Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional projects.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
