Our client, a leading international investment bank, is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Production Support Engineer to join the dynamic team. As a Production Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and availability of critical Capital Market systems. Your primary focus will be on managing and resolving production incidents, driving root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures to minimize system downtime. You will work closely with development teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to ensure the stability and reliability of the production environment.
Responsibilities:
Monitor production systems and respond to incidents promptly, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
Conduct root cause analysis on production incidents and create action plans to prevent a recurrence.
Collaborate with development teams to implement code fixes and enhancements to improve system stability.
Work closely with infrastructure teams to optimize system performance, capacity, and scalability.
Ensure compliance with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
Create and maintain detailed documentation to support knowledge transfer and standard operating procedures.
Participate in release management activities, including deployment planning, testing, and implementation.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide technical expertise and support.
Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to production support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Solid experience in production support within the financial services industry, preferably in investment banking and capital market.
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and Shell scripting.
Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
Experience with automation tools and frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, etc.).
Knowledge of scheduling tools such as AutoSys, Crontab, Control-M
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
ITIL certification or knowledge of ITIL processes is a plus.
