Excel/VBA Desk Developers

Also known as Rapid Application Development (RAD), desk developers constitute the IT SWAT team on the trading desk. Working in a fast paced, demanding environment, desk developers build and support tactical, ad hoc solutions for the desk under tight deadlines.

Ideal candidates are able to work under pressure in a front-office environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Good teamwork and communication skills are essential as the role will involve working with other technology teams/business to support existing and new product flow. Desk developers are exposed to a wide variety of financial products traded by the deak and are expected to develop an understanding of the key drivers of the business and products traded.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

 •  Expertise in Excel and VBA.

 •  Expertise in .Net (C#) or Java to create Excel add ins.

 •  Front-office trading or relevant industry experience highly desireable.

 •  Experience with one or more asset class (Equities, Derivatives, Credit, etc.) essential.

 •  Strong communication and client-facing skills with a high-degree of motivation.

 •  Ability to face off with a fairly aggressive, demanding user-base and environment.

 •  Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science from a reputable university.
